Reducing emissions is only one part of the local climate action story. Multiple additional benefits - from improved health outcomes and lower bills to green jobs and warmer homes - are up for grabs if we take effective climate action today.
SCIS is pleased to publish the fourth of a series of briefings highlighting some of the key social benefits and real value of local climate action that could be implemented by local authorities across Scotland.
This briefing - Heat Networks - has been produced by the SCIS colleagues working on the UK Co-Benefits Atlas. It highlights the social benefits of shifting from fossil fuel heating to heat networks, not only in terms of emissions reduction, but supporting local authorities to deliver key service outcomes, all while reducing strain on public finances.
